In the new version of ENGAGE Modeler process steps can be marked with a background colour to indicate whether these add value or not. On April 1, 2011, the new version of ENGAGE Modeler was launched with new features to better respond to the application of LEAN concepts and ideas.
Value-added versus non-value-added
Now each process step will specify whether it adds value, yes or no. Three possibilities:
- Green: Customer value added
- Red: non-value added (lean term : waste)
- Yellow: Business value added (Lean term : necessary waste)
The program will automatically convert it into a background colour.
Extra Indicators
Additional indicators support the relationship between the duration of the process and the extent to which it adds value.
ENGAGE ENGAGE Modeler offers the following indicators:
- Process cycle efficiency;
- Customer value-adding time is compared to the total time.
- Value-added processing time (both customer and business value) that are comparable to the total time.
