Announcement - New features

Dear users of ENGAGE Modeler,

Mid October we will issue a new release of ENGAGE Modeler. This release includes a large number of new functions and possibilities. All improvements of ENGAGE Modeler are based on questions and requests from our customers.

The new release will become available through your log-in from one moment to the other. The user interface will reflect some changed, so please be prepared.

What has changed?

  1. A wizard has been added for creating projects.
  2. A new small window will show you a Helicopter View; this will prove especially handy when you are working with a large process model.
  3. A new Compact View allows you to hide certain supporting icons in your process map. Icons like the Start and Stop of sub processes will be temporarily hidden to condense the size of your map.
  4. The possibility to add a Stop within a sub process has been added.
  5. In addition to defining sub-processes, you can now define Phases.
  6. In addition to the Engage! icons that you are used to, we have added a simple rectangle. Don’t worry; we will not add more rectangles and triangles.
  7. For each activity you can now add the expected break time. This offers you an alternative to including breaks in the process.
  8. Users can now opt to show measures below process steps. This might facilitate discussion about these measures.

  9. For making changes, copying, dragging you can now select multiple icons.
  10. In the navigation window you can decide on the sequence in which models, processes and sub-processes are listed.
  11. Four input and output fields can be added to process steps instead of two.
  12. Multiple documents can be added to process steps.
  13. Labels can be added to branches of parallel activities.
  14. Partial availability can be assigned to people when simulating processes.
  15. ENGAGE Modeler can highlight the critical path for lead time of your process map.
  16. Users can manually select a path for Engage! Modeler to evaluate.
  17. Branches can be added via the mini-property-editor for choices and parallels. Input and output can now also be added via the mini-property-editor.
  18. Users can opt to disable the screen tips.
  19. A Tag can be added to process steps allowing you to create your own labeling or category.

How do these new functions work?

As always we have done our best to keep ENGAGE Modeler intuitive. Whenever you need instruction you can use the updated user manual. The manual can be found with the Knopje voor het oproepen van de Online Help. button in the upper right corner.

The new functions will made available mid October.

ENGAGE Modeler is improved. Even stronger in designing, evaluating, understanding processes. Please share your experiences with us. We continue to improve ENGAGE Modeler and look forward to your further suggestions.

Good luck with your processes!
