Getting started | Tips

  • After logging in to ENGAGE Modeler you will automatically enter a Wizard that helps you to build the first process.
  • After completing the wizard, you can start designing your process. Please note that in ENGAGE Modeler you add process steps PRIOR to the process step you select. In order to add the first step, please select the STOP icon by clicking on it with your mouse. Then select the process step that you want to add in the top Ribbon by clicking it with the left mouse button.
  • You can always drag & drop process steps within the process model.
  • Try to make a loop; Add a choice icon and then add some process steps in each branch. Then take the Stop at the end of the branch and drag it to a process step in the upper branch.
  • Use the “mini property editor” to add data to your process model. Go to the 'File' menu on the top corner of the application, and click 'options'. In options, go to “Action after Inserting” and select “show mini property editor”. After you have selected this, the mini property editor will pop up automatically after you insert a process step. Also, you can open it by double clicking on a process step.
  • When using the mini property editor to build you model, we suggest that you always enter the name of the task and assign a role. When naming a process step it is best practice to use a verb and a noun: “call customer”, “pack order” etc.
  • Experiment with various process views, like Value Stream, Flowchart, Swimlane, Input / Output and more.
  • In the properties window on the right side you can edit the properties of a process step. When you add input and output, you can go to the Lay-Out section of the ribbon in the upper left corner to select what you want to show in the process map.

The complete user manual can be found in the  sign in the upper right corner.
